The Genosha Hotel was opened in 1929 and was a luxury hotel in downtown Oshawa. For some decades it declined until it became a strip club and barely more than a flop house. It's now an eyesore that drags the neighbourhood around it down.
An interesting redevelopment plan seemed to be on the go a year or so ago but that's come to a dead halt and no one seems to know (or maybe wants to say) what went wrong.
If anyone does know, or has some good ideas for how to move ahead, post a comment?
